Air support question
on: February 24, 2009, 07:06:00 PM

I'm putting together a small FWL unit, composed almost entirely of airmobile battle armor and transports. I want some fighter support, but I'm not sure which way to go. For the BV I have available, I can take either two Stingrays with no external ordnance, or two Cheetahs and two Sabres, with two bombs apiece. What would you recommend?

 What transports are you using?

Why not try both and see how they work?  If the 'Rays had aft firing weapons, I'd take them hands down, but the ability to just drop bombs-a-plenty does make the Cheetah/Sabre option very attractive...

What transports are you using?

Mk. VII Landing Craft. Each one will carry a full-strength platoon of battle armor.

Hmmmm... I like both.  Though I am leaning towards explodey bomby goodness.

I am leaning towards the bombs for the same reason as Albatross, the Stingray can not protect its tail and there are only 2.

Do you expect them to be in for a long fight, or is this a hit & run operation?
